The Urban Improv Mentoring Program
 The Urban Improv Mentoring Program provides unlimited opportunities for children and adults to share experiences, ideas and time in comfortable and trusting relationships. Students in the 4th and 5th grades, who have participated in Urban Improv, are selected by their schools to be mentees. They are invited to become part of a mentor/mentee community with a one-on-one mentor relationship supported by the philosophy and energy of the Urban Improv Workshops.
The goal of the mentors is to advance the educational and personal growth opportunities of the mentee. Together mentors and mentees share experiences and learn to respect, listen, and trust one another.
Additionally, mentees enjoy activities like visits to the Children’s Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, skating on the Frog Pond, touring Fenway Park, kayaking on the Charles, cooking and exercise classes, and helping out at homeless shelters and nursing homes.
The mentors are teachers, doctors, lawyers, writers, mothers and fathers, ages 19 to 65 from the greater Boston area, who want to spend time each week giving back to their community and to young children.
